Connecting Stripe lets your gym accept membership dues, drop-ins, and shop orders. CombatScore uses Stripe Connect, so Stripe — not CombatScore — securely handles card processing, identity verification, bank details, and tax forms. CombatScore never holds your funds and never sees your card data.
Before you start
- Only the primary owner can connect Stripe or change billing settings. Co-owners can view plans and revenue but can't run setup.
- Have your business details and a bank account handy. Setup takes about 3 minutes.
- Not sure what Stripe will ask for? See What you need to open a Stripe account for the full checklist of details and documents.
Connect your account
- Go to Dashboard → My Gym → Finance (or Billing).
- In the Set up payments card, choose:
- New to Stripe — set up in ~3 min — creates a Stripe account inline.
- Already have Stripe — link it — connects an existing Stripe account.
- Stripe walks you through identity verification, linking a payout bank account, and tax info. Follow the prompts and submit.
- You'll return to the Finance page automatically when you're done.
CombatScore will never ask for your Stripe password or API keys. Everything happens on Stripe's secure, hosted onboarding.
What happens after you connect
- When Stripe finishes verifying you, charges activate and the setup card disappears. You can then publish membership plans, accept drop-ins, and sell shop items.
- If Stripe is still reviewing, you'll see a short "in review" note. You can configure plans in the meantime — they'll be ready the moment activation lands.
- If anything is still needed, the page shows exactly what Stripe is waiting on, with a link to finish.
Fees
You keep everything beyond Stripe's standard 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction — there is no CombatScore markup on your payments.
Payouts
Stripe pays out to your linked bank account on its normal schedule. Manage payouts and view your balance any time from Finance → Payouts & fees, which opens your Stripe dashboard.
Troubleshooting
- The setup card still shows after connecting. Refresh the page; if it persists, open Payouts & fees to check your account status.
- Charges aren't enabled yet. Stripe may still be verifying your details. Complete any outstanding items Stripe lists, then check back.
- A co-owner can't connect Stripe. That's expected — only the primary owner can run payment setup.
