Partner matching

Partner matching helps you find a drilling partner at your gym who's compatible — similar belt, weight range, focus areas, and (eventually) class attendance overlap. It's a strict opt-in feature and the matches are scoped to your gym, not the public.

Turning it on

1. Go to Settings → Profile and toggle Partner matching on.
2. Make sure your bio, weight, and primary discipline are filled in — the matcher uses them.

If your gym hasn't enabled partner matching at the gym level, the toggle still works but you won't see any matches until they do.

What other members see

Only members at the same gym who have also opted in. They see your display name, belt, weight range (rounded), and bio. They don't see your full address, real name (unless you put it in the display name), or anything from the kid accounts you manage.

How matches are scored

Roughly:

• Belt distance — closer belt levels rank higher (a white belt won't see purple belts as top matches).
• Weight band — within ±15 lb is a strong signal.
• Focus overlap — what you train (gi vs no-gi, comp vs hobby) plays in.
• Schedule overlap — phase-2; will use class attendance once we have a few weeks of data.

Turning it off

Same toggle. You disappear from everyone's match list immediately.
